What kind of game is CSManager?
CSManager is a free Counter-Strike team manager game. You manage a team, you do not aim or shoot yourself. You sign players, train them, handle the money and call tactics. The goal is to climb from amateur to world legend.
Is CSManager free to play?
Yes. CSManager is free to play and has no pay-to-win. The full career mode runs offline.
Is CSManager an official Counter-Strike game?
No. CSManager is an independent, fan-made game. It is not affiliated with Valve or Counter-Strike.
Are the teams and players real?
Mostly yes. The clubs and their line-ups are real sides of each era, with the players who actually competed for them, and the transfer market signs real free agents too. Academy prospects are invented. CSManager is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any team, player or Valve.
Do I control the aiming and shooting?
No. You make the manager calls: roster, training, money and round tactics. The engine resolves each duel from player skill, roles, economy and a bit of luck.
How does a match work?
A map is played round by round in a 2D viewer. Standard matches are first to 16, with a side swap at halftime. A tie goes to overtime.
What can I decide during a match?
Before each round you pick a tactic: Rush, Default, Eco, Force or Anti-eco. Each leans on different skills and costs a different amount. At each half you also set a gameplan — tempo, priority, a team talk, when to save a lost round and when to use your grenades — and you get a star-player focus and a timeout, which breaks the rival's streak, lets you change the plan and can set up an all-in play with every grenade.
How does the in-game economy work?
Money comes from round wins, kills, bomb plants and a loss bonus. Buying weapons costs money, so eco and force-buy rounds are real choices. Players who save a lost round keep their guns, but a T side that runs out of time gets no loss bonus for the ones still standing. You see your exact money; the rival economy is only estimated from their buys.
What do player roles and attributes do?
Each player has a role: AWPer, entry fragger, IGL, support or lurker, plus five attributes: aim, reflexes, game sense, utility and composure. A balanced five that covers every role performs best. Stacking one role, like five AWPers, hurts the team.
What is career mode?
You take an amateur club up a five-tier ladder, from Amateur to International. Each season is an eight-team league played home and away. The top two are promoted and the bottom two are relegated.
How does training work?
Each player trains a focus of his own (yours to pick, or the suggested one an assistant coach applies — with no focus, a player doesn’t train) and the squad trains at the intensity you set — light, normal or hard: more progress, more fatigue. Each week you also prepare the match: the map, the opponent or the squad’s cohesion. Your team keeps a map pool: the fewer maps it practises, the deeper it knows them, and the rest rust. Resting a tired player sheds fatigue, at the cost of his week’s progress. Gains are small and gradual, you see how far each player is from his next point, and his form speeds it up or slows it down.
What is a player's form?
It's how he has been playing against what his level and role are expected to deliver inside his team: after every match you see his kills against the expected ones. A hot streak speeds up his growth (training and the off-season) and a slump slows it, but it never takes attributes away or changes how he plays. It cools by itself over a few weeks.
Can I sign and scout players?
Yes. You scout and sign players on the transfer market within your budget. Signing resets some team chemistry, so keeping a stable lineup is rewarded. The Moves section of the Transfers tab shows who moved this season and last: rival signings and trades, retirements, rookies, promotions and relegations, starting with your division.
Are there tournaments?
Yes. Each season has LAN events, including a season-ending Major. They are sixteen-team invitationals with a group stage and playoffs. Trophies and retired legends are kept in your palmares and Hall of Fame.
What are sponsors, the board and difficulty?
A sponsor and the board each set you a target every season. Miss it and you risk losing the sponsor or your job, which drops you to a smaller club. You choose easy, normal or hard when you start a career.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. CSManager is 100% offline. Your career is saved on your own device, across three save slots.
Can I play on mobile, and is there an app?
Yes, it is mobile-first. Play it in any browser, or add it to your home screen to play it like an app. Native Android and iOS apps are planned.
Which Counter-Strike eras are included?
All three are playable: CS 1.6, CS:GO and CS2. You choose your era when you start a career, and a running career can move forward an era between seasons — 1.6 into CS:GO, CS:GO into CS2 — keeping its squad, trophies and rivalries. Each era has its own clubs, maps, economy and match format: 1.6 and CS:GO play MR15, CS2 plays MR12.
What languages are supported?
Nine: English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, German, Ukrainian, Danish and Chinese.
